Aston church represents something different to each one of us in the village and the constitution of The Friends enables the PCC to request financial assistance towards maintenance and preservation of the building.

In the past, Friends have contributed to a variety of things for the church, including:

Replacement of the church notice board.
A loop amplification system for the deaf and hard of hearing.
New steel shutter grilles for the windows.
Repairs to the lych gate.
A new timber fence for the front of the church and churchyard.
Drainage and gutter work.
Electrical work.
Cleaning and maintenance of the churchyard.

We are currently raising funds for the redecoration of the church after the roof repairs.  The friends undertake various fund raising activities including and annual Spring Lunch, concerts, a tombola stall at the Christmas fair etc.

Membership of The Friends is by subscription for a family, individual or OAP membership.  There are currently 77 family or individual members.  New members are always welcome - Please phone (01438) 880239 for details.

The friends have a small committee who organise subscriptions and events.  Currently the Chair person is Angela Cantwell and the Secretary is Jill Price.
